However: the current policy for IPv6 PI assignments specifies "Assignments will be made from a separate 'designated block' to facilitate filtering practices.". Is that worth keeping?
I find it useful. If only to help my scripts in building my routing table pictures (http://www.space.net/~gert/RIPE/weekly/) to find "outliers" - I tag address space blocks as "PI" or "IXP" or "DNS root", and then I normally do not need to do anything for new prefixes showing up, as opposed to "oh, a new /48, let's go to the RIPE DB and see what flavour it is". (Now, the "PI" category would not be named as such anymore, but it would still be "the small type of prefix" and as such worth to keep track on a separate line) Gert Doering -- speaking as IPv6 statistics geek -- have you enabled IPv6 on something today...?
