I remain interested to hear the answer to my question about what the RIPE NCC intends to do if there is no consensus to approve 2008-08.
Malcolm, all, This issue will be on the agenda for the next Executive board meeting, during the second week of June. You are asking an interesting question. We have been doing the development work on the basis of our Activity Plan, which in turn is based on community requests to implement the RPKI system. How and in which direction do we progress with hundreds of members showing active interest in using the system, while others are debating the dangers? The policy you are discussing is needed to regulate operations of the system. Until we have an agreed policy in place, we can only operate a sandbox system that should not be relied upon. The ongoing discussion is crucial, I am actually very happy that it happens. Those present at the Lisbon meeting will remember that we tried to stimulate exactly what is happening now. Having talked to Rob recently, we agree that making RPKI / resource certification a programmatic focus throughout the Vienna meeting might be a good idea. cheers, Axel
