Thank you again. Do you know whether or not there are any active efforts in any of those regions to harmonise the periods (in other words change it to 24 months in the APNIC region, or to 12 months in the ARIN region)?
APNIC-Prop-104 is under consideration at APNIC as we speak, and would move APNIC to 24-months. http://www.apnic.net/policy/proposals/prop-104 ARIN-2011-12 was implemented in February, please note that 36-months was also discussed during that process and another proposal ARIN-prop-176 pushed from 60-months. So, I don't believe ARIN returning to 12-months is a realistic expectation, personally I see ARIN either remaining at 24 months or maybe going to 36 months if justified after additional experience with transfers. https://www.arin.net/policy/proposals/2011_12.html http://lists.arin.net/pipermail/arin-ppml/2012-June/025352.html -- =============================================== David Farmer Email:farmer@umn.edu Office of Information Technology University of Minnesota 2218 University Ave SE Phone: 612-626-0815 Minneapolis, MN 55414-3029 Cell: 612-812-9952 ===============================================
