A new RIPE Policy proposal, 2017-01, "Publish statistics on Intra-RIR Legacy updates" is now available for discussion.

The goal of this proposal is to require the RIPE NCC to publish all changes to the holdership of legacy resources in the existing transfer statistics.

that is not a goal, but rather the means. but a means to what end? i.e. what is the goal of this proposal; what problem does it intend to solve, or what wonderful opportunity does it hope to exploit? the written proposal says In addition to introducing greater transparency, this policy change would also protect legacy holders from potential hijacks. why is this true only for legacy space? randy
