Re: [address-policy-wg] 2012-04 New Policy Proposal (PI Assignments from the last /8)
Regarding using last /8 for PI assignments, this proposal looks fair to me. -- Sergey Monday, May 7, 2012, 4:18:52 PM, you wrote: EM> Dear Colleagues, EM> A proposed change to RIPE Document ripe-530, "IPv4 Address Allocation EM> and Assignment Policy for the RIPE NCC Service Region", is now EM> available for discussion. Agree. Lets distribute the leftovers and be done with this for good, so people could focus on important things (such as IPv6 deployment :) ) +1 Jan

+1 At the current run-rate, how long would PI from the final /8 be available ? Is it considered desirable by the community to any space whatsoever of the final /8 for PA, so that new LIRs can form and be given any v4 for a period of time longer than the anticipated run rate ? My mind is not made up on the subject yet, though I am erring on the side of 'no' because after some consideration, I think that v6 is the only long-term answer, and that stalling tactics are all very interesting to discuss.
