Dear Arnold
From the RIPE NCC website you can find an Abuse Finder tool http://apps.db.ripe.net/search/abuse-finder.html
This is a first iteration of a user tool to help with finding abuse contact information in the RIPE Database. It tries to find the abuse contact(s) for an Internet resource on a 'best effort' basis.
One of the difficulties of automating this process at the moment is many abuse contacts are in "remarks:" attributes. These cannot be parsed by a script with any degree of confidence. This was one of the starting points from which the 2011-06 policy proposal originated.

I tried that now. It's very confusing.
It's not at all clear if the search box will take an IP address or not ..
That is a good point. People 'within the registration business' know what an Internet resource is and know what we mean by primary key. To more general users (including the public), these terms may not mean anything. In fact 'key' may even be interpreted as 'password'. We will make that more clear.
I tried one and got back a "result" which I could click on .. When I did I got "ERROR:115: invalid search key"
This works OK for me. What address did you search on? regards denis

Michele
