Dear Group, Following the recent announcement for a call for a third Chair, I would like to be considered for the position. Here is a little about me and why I think that I would be a good fit - Richard (Dick) Leaning *Am currently a Director of Trust and Safety at Cloudflare with Global responsibility for Outreach. My role involves engaging with a broad range of stakeholders including law enforcement, rights holders, child protection, policy and government organisations. * *I spent a 30 year career in law enforcement, spending the last 10 years working for the National Cyber Crime Unit (NCA) in the UK and the European Cybercrime Centre (Europol) in The Hague. I have been involved with the RIPE community since 2009 and between 2015 - 2019 worked for the RIPE NCC External Relations department, joining Cloudflare in 2020. * *I am a member of numerous internet related working groups with international exposure, including the Europol’s European CyberCrime Centre (EC3) Advisory group on cyber security. I established the Government Advisory Committee Public Safety Working Group at ICANN (GAC PSWG) and also helped create the Number Resource Organisations public safety coordination group. * *Throughout my career, I have built relationships of mutual trust and respect that facilitated significant collaboration with law enforcement, government authorities and industry partners not only within Europe but also extensively in the Middle East, Africa and Asian Pacific regions. * *I believe this vast international experience in Public, Private and Intergovernmental industries and environments, together with my skills, reputation and global network, will be an asset to the RIPE community and the Cooperation Working Group, and will ensure open constructive discussions taking into account all stakeholder's vision of the Internet landscape. * Am more than happy to answer any questions if anyone feels they need to know more about me and what I can add to the group. Dear Group, Following the call for third co-chair posted on 30 November, we are pleased to announce that we have two candidates that have expressed and confirmed their interest for the post of the third co-chair:
- Desiree Miloshevic - Richard Leaning
We invite the Desiree and Richard to present themselves to the Group, launching thus the discussion in the WG mailing list.
Please note that as we will be in a holiday period, we will keep the discussion open until 5 January 2021 instead of the foreseen 2 week period.
We thank again Desiree and Richard and the other members that expressed interest for this post. Julf & Achilleas

For clarity, here is the official Cooperation WG Chair Selection Process:
https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.ripe.net/participate/ripe/wg/active-...
"The RIPE Coop WG aims for multiple Chairs, with two or three Chairs, ideally from differing sectors, being ideal.
The process for selecting a new chair is as follows:
1. A call for interested parties is made on the WG mailing list at least every three years, or whenever needed. 2. Interested parties have two weeks to make their interest known via the mailing list, or directly to the Chair/s. 3. After two weeks, the Chair/s ensure that all candidates are announced on the mailing list and issue a call for discussion. 4. WG members express their approval or otherwise of the presented candidates. 5. Two weeks after the call for discussion, the Chair/s declare a decision, based on mailing list discussion, as they would do for a policy proposal."
Thus, as we have posted the call on Monday, November 30, it means interested parties have until end of the day (CET) on Monday, December 14 to make their interest known.
A few people have already been in touch, but more interest is definitely welcome!
