Dear group, Best wishes for happy prosperous and healthy 2021 from me too. Many thanks to Dick and Desiree for having responded to Julf's request on visions of challenges and opportunities for 2021, as well as many thanks to all those who expressed support for the candidates. As this is a selection rather than an election process, it would be much more helpful to know the reasoning why you express support for a candidate rather than the mere expression of support for this candidate. Best regards. In the Chinese calendar, 2020 is the year of the Rat, and 2021 the year of the Ox. Personally I have to say I prefer BS (that is something we are all used to) to the plague. Anyway, January 5 is approaching quickly, and Achilleas and I are facing the prospect of having to pick one of the co-chair candidates without much input from the WG members. Therefore I would like to kick off a quick discussion round by asking both Desiree and Dick to post their visions of what they think the challenges and opportunities are in 2021 for the RIPE community with regards to governments and international organisations. Dear Group, Following the call for third co-chair posted on 30 November, we are pleased to announce that we have two candidates that have expressed and confirmed their interest for the post of the third co-chair:
- Desiree Miloshevic - Richard Leaning
We invite the Desiree and Richard to present themselves to the Group, launching thus the discussion in the WG mailing list.
Please note that as we will be in a holiday period, we will keep the discussion open until 5 January 2021 instead of the foreseen 2 week period.
We thank again Desiree and Richard and the other members that expressed interest for this post. Julf & Achilleas

Dear Group,
We have posted a call for third co-chair on Monday, November 30.
We are pleased as Group Members have already been in touch and expressed interest.
For those that might be interested, please note you still have one week, until end of the day (CET) on Monday, December 14 to make your interest known to WG co-chairs (mail address in cc).

For clarity, here is the official Cooperation WG Chair Selection Process:
https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.ripe.net/participate/ripe/wg/active-...
"The RIPE Coop WG aims for multiple Chairs, with two or three Chairs, ideally from differing sectors, being ideal.
The process for selecting a new chair is as follows:
1. A call for interested parties is made on the WG mailing list at least every three years, or whenever needed. 2. Interested parties have two weeks to make their interest known via the mailing list, or directly to the Chair/s. 3. After two weeks, the Chair/s ensure that all candidates are announced on the mailing list and issue a call for discussion. 4. WG members express their approval or otherwise of the presented candidates. 5. Two weeks after the call for discussion, the Chair/s declare a decision, based on mailing list discussion, as they would do for a policy proposal."
Thus, as we have posted the call on Monday, November 30, it means interested parties have until end of the day (CET) on Monday, December 14 to make their interest known.
A few people have already been in touch, but more interest is definitely welcome!
Julf & Achilleas
