Subject: [NRO-IANAXFER] Completion of the IANA Stewardship Transition to the global Internet Community
Dear colleagues,
We are very pleased to see the completion of the transfer the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority’s (IANA) stewardship to the global multistakeholder community.

We are also very happy to see that the implementation of the proposal fully reflects the spirit of the number community’s will.
The number community has worked effectively and constructively together with the broader Internet community over the last two years in completing this plan. The number community’s fundamental principles of openness, transparency, inclusiveness and bottom-up decision making, have been a leading example throughout this work. We are immensely proud of the work carried out by our community and we feel privileged to have been part of this process.
The successful completion of the IANA stewardship transition, involving many different stakeholders across the globe, is a true testament to the multistakeholder model.
The IANA function now in the hands of the global Internet community, which will ensure the continued stability and openness of those fundamental functions.
We now have a stewardship mechanism which the Numbers Community, with expertise on the global number resources, has the stewardship of the IANA Numbering Services. This mechanism reflects the three Operational Communities, who have been responsible for the resources managed by the IANA, to have stewardship for these functions.
We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this successful transition.
Kind regards,
Izumi Okutani, chair of the CRISP team
Nurani Nimpuno, vice chair of the CRISP team
