Dear Gbebga Olubisi, The AfriNIC has put processes in place for providing services via e-mail, request forms etc. Like the RIPE NCC did before the lir-portal came into being. Lets take this discussion off list and I can direct you to more detailed information. hi Timothy Lowe,
From the mail i have been receiving from RIPE, it is stated that the LIR portal on RIPE will no more be available to LIRs that falls under the geographical space of AFriNIC whihc my LIR (ng.briscoetel) falls. Without access to the LIR on AfriNIC, how do i manage our IP address whihc has been allocated to us already since late last year.

Dear Gbenga Olubisi,
AfriNIC does not have an lir-portal like web interface at this time. One is planned. AfriNIC request forms and other documents can be found here:

Dear Colleagues,
AfriNIC is the emerging Regional Internet Registry (RIR) for the African and Indian Ocean region. In preparation for its final recognition expected in April by ICANN, AfriNIC began operating as a fully functional RIR for the African region on 21 February 2005. LIRs in the AfriNIC service region can now request IP address space, AS Numbers and reverse delegation from AfriNIC and enter objects in the AfriNIC Whois Database.
Details of the RIPE NCC to AfriNIC transition can be found at:
http://www.ripe.net/info/resource-admin/afrinic/
If you have questions regarding the transition to AfriNIC, please contacts us at <afritrans@ripe.net>.
