personally I am not happy that you choose to try to change a decision which was made after a long discussion with a lot of people involved (Starting at a Technical meeting at DENIC one year ago and followed by a lot of discussions at several RIPE meetings) but as a matter of fairness I think you should try to inform the people signing the petition also about the process and the reasons.
