I disagree.
AFRINIC has just completed a detailed historical audit of its entire
WHOIS data base and has published the results derived therefrom.
Will RIPE now follow suit? Or does RIPE consider itself to be somehow
magically above the fray when it comes to possible data base hanky panky,
either present or past?
Let me ask the question a different way... Are there any persons who,
once upon a time, worked inside RIPE NCC, had some authority with respect
the the assignment of valuable IP address blocks, and who thence and
thereafter when into "private practice" so to speak?
Before making such broad and sweeping proclamations of irrelevance,
Mr. Co-Chairman, perhaps it would behoove you to perform some relevant
historical research, as I have done.
