re:[db-wg] violation of DB T&C by DB-WG co-chair, is it acceptable?
Hi Elvis, Regarding your claim that our company misuses operation emails, we would like to address the issue in the following as it deeply affects our company's image as well as customer's credibility for us: 1. Although David sent the email, he is not the one who decides the recipient list. This is decided by the marketing team. 2. As a company which fully upholds fairness and respects customers ‘privacy, Larus NEVER uses any operation emails or technical emails for commercial use. The emails we used for commercial purpose are only those that are open to public. Please let us know if there is any misunderstanding. 3. We also respect our customer's privacy by implementing a un-subscription policy. Customers can unsubscribe anytime at their liberty. Larus never sends spam emails to our customers nor misuse any operation emails. Every employee of Larus follows strictly this policy. We do not tolerate any improper behaviour within the company as well as any false claims. Please do not hesitate to contact us in private if you find an operation email is used for commercial purpose.
In short. Blah-blah. "We're never sending spam" That's simply unthruth. I also receive spam mails from Larus.
We do not tolerate any improper behaviour within the company as well as any false claims.
So will you fire David or any other person from the marketing team? -- Sergey Wednesday, September 13, 2017, 6:16:01 PM, you wrote: AvP> Hi Elvis, AvP> Regarding your claim that our company misuses operation emails, we would AvP> like to address the issue in the following as it deeply affects our AvP> company's image as well as customer's credibility for us: AvP> 1. Hi Elvis,
Regarding your claim that our company misuses operation emails, we would like to address the issue in the following as it deeply affects our company's image as well as customer's credibility for us:
1. Although David sent the email, he is not the one who decides the recipient list. This is decided by the marketing team. I really do not care. My question was directed to the wg and the question was simple, should we as wg keep david as co-chair of the DB-WG considering that he has violated the RIPE DB T&C. 2. As a company which fully upholds fairness and respects customers ‘privacy, Larus NEVER uses any operation emails or technical emails for commercial use. The emails we used for commercial purpose are only those that are open to public. Please let us know if there is any misunderstanding. Using the e-mail addresses available publicly in the RIPE DB is a violation of its T&Cs. So, you confirm that you, as a company, have

3. We also respect our customer's privacy by implementing a un-subscription policy. Customers can unsubscribe anytime at their liberty. SPAM is SPAM. <company> is not, has not and will not be your customer, ever. You have crawled the RIPE DB for e-mail addresses that you have added to your mailing list. Either that or you have bought the list from someone that has done the crawling for you and sent unsolicited messages. Both, a violation of the T&Cs.
So, if they unsubscribe they give you the confirmation that their e-mail address really exists and someone is really looking at it. Saying that you give them the right to unsubscribe is just what every other SPAMMER does.

You are asking me to contact you in private next time he does it. LOL
I am sure that what David did was 100% deliberate. He knew he would be spamming and he knew he would violate the T&Cs. The questions stand. I am curious to see what the rest of the wg members think. I also await a response from the RIPE NCC to my question from the previous e-mail. Elvis
