PS I think the country code should 00 for whole world since as countries split - who knows if ZZ or any two letters will be used in the future.
ZZ is fine. ISO 3166-1 has reserved code points for exactly this purpose. See http://www.iso.ch/iso/en/prods-services/iso3166ma/10faq/frequently-asked-que...
Ya learn something new every day. Thanks, -Hank
"EU" is not on this list, but it's on a - meanwhile non-public - separate list and will not be assigned. Different topic :-)

so did I - after following my own advise. The "EU", the reserved list and the non-existence of a code for "worldwide" are dealt with in QS05, Q08 and QS07. So, to address Christoph's issue: I'd be in favor of defining and documenting a separate code point for "worldwide" within the RIPE DB context. Should that be done, there might be no further need for the "EU" code in the database, which is probably neither politically nor geographically correct - although its meaning might be clear. -Peter
Hello once again! Thanks for your ideas. I saw that the case of RIPE-ISRAELB-NET has been fixed to 'country: IL' - but what about the rest? It has a been a question to the RIPE NCC to change some database object maintained by RIPE-NCC-HM-MNT. Shane? Apparently the mailing list software delivers the posts out of order. I had already replied this morning hours before I have received this mail ;) The NCC will change them where appropriate, as I mentioned in my mail this morning.

FYI, Shane is on vacation this week and next week.
