RESTful API for create, delete and update
Can someone please provide an update regarding RIPE's RESTful APIs for manipulating the RIPE database? The documentation <https://labs.ripe.net/ripe-database/database-api/api-documentation> points to <http://lab.db.ripe.net/whois> http://lab.db.ripe.net/whois as the URL for communicating with the RIPE and TEST databases. In my testing, transactions time out with that web service endpoint. Using a slightly different URL (http://apps.db.ripe.net/whois), queries succeed but updates do not. Could it be that the web service URL has changed? Or is the e-mail template approach still preferred? Thank you in advance... Cheers, Christopher Fuselier
Hello Christopher, The labs server machine and the API prototype (lab.db.ripe.net) are down for unplanned maintenance work right now and we expect it to be back online by tomorrow. I am sorry for the inconvenience this might have caused. Good news is we are in the process of upgrading the service to production status on apps.db.ripe.net. As you noted the Queries API service are already deployed on that cluster and will be officially announced as production service very soon and short after that we will migrate the Update API service to production status on the same cluster. All related documentation will be updated when the service is in production and it will be an officially supported NCC Service. We definitely suggest using the web services for any automated interaction with RIPE Database.
