Did you ever look into http://www.ripe.net/db/dbwais.html ? I just did a search on the string "tele2", and it definitely finds objects with that string in the address field. (Apologies to Tele 2 if this was not appropriate :-) Of course, in the context of the RIPE DB-WG, we're always open to discuss and propose additional (reverse) lookup keys for the database software itself, but I wonder if more complex searching isn't better taken care of using external tools. Ripe4s Database for searching IPaddresses goes fine, but if you (like a LIR) wants to find out if the customer (that requests for address space) already have a range of addresses it4s very difficult to find out. My wish is that you can search for "company name". You can sometimes get a hit on "company name", but it is not often.
A reverse lookup would seem ideal for this, and I believe many would benefit from it (well - *I* would) :-) A substring search would be nicest.
