What do you think of our new UI?
Dear colleagues, We have created a short survey to get your feedback and comments on the new user interface (UI) we have deployed across RIPE NCC’s services, including the RIPE DB website. We kindly ask you to take part in the survey and help us improve the user experience for you. You can access the survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RIPENCCservicesUI The survey is anonymous and will remain open until 30 September 2021. Regards Ed Shryane RIPE NCC

OK, so I'm trying to helpfully take the survey, but... Right away I hit a snag, probably caused by my own geeky but strong tendencies to (a) take everything literally and (b) make everything that is simple complicated (by over-thinking everything). The survey asks if I am happy with "RIPE Database". Is that in reference ONLY to the web-based interface to that? Because I don't use the web interface at all, preferring to use traditional port 43 queries instead. On rare occasions when I want/need to show some Windows weenie something in the WHOIS, I *do* direct *them* to use the web based interface... because that's one hell of a lot simpler than trying to explain to them how to use telnet to port 43... but other than that, I never even use the web interface. So should I just vote "N/A" on that question, even though I am mostly happy with what I can get from the traditional port 43 interface? Regards, rfg
Porland, be serious, you are never happy. ________________________________ From: db-wg <db-wg-bounces@ripe.net> on behalf of Ronald F. Thanks for pointing this out. To clarify, "RIPE Database" on the survey form is indeed only the RIPE database website: https://apps.db.ripe.net/ I'll check if we can improve the wording on the survey.
So should I just vote "N/A" on that question, even though I am mostly happy with what I can get from the traditional port 43 interface?
I agree, if you don't use the RIPE database website, N/A is most suitable. Regards Ed Shryane RIPE NCC
