Which equipment do you use on ISP side, and which on client side ? And do you use Cisco RBE (or SuperVLANs for Riverstone/Extreme) ? I'm interrested in knowing how many customers you are connecting via your current hardware. Do you also do 'classic' PPPoA ?
Client side is Linux, FreeBSD or Cisco with 12.2(recent)T IOS versions. Server side for the "dialup DSL" customers (PPPoE on Client, L2TP tunnel on server side) is Cisco. Currently we do it on a 4700 with an "early field test" beta release, but other people do it with 12.2(13)T1 and good success. You need to use (13)T or the EFT beta, as all earlier releases do not have support for downloading IPv6 configuration from Radius - ok for leased line, but insufficient for dialup/PPPoE DSL. For our static DSL customers that are presented on ATM PVCs with "bridge mode encapsulation" and that want to use IPv6, we do not use RBE (yet). Instead those customers are IRB bridged to a BVI. IPv4-only customers do RBE. We don't do PPPoA. As for the number of IPv6 customers - ridiculously few (less than 10 for L2TP and for L2TP tunneled). So we have no idea how well this will scale if someone will actually use it... :-) Gert Doering -- NetMaster -- Total number of prefixes smaller than registry allocations: 57021 (57147) SpaceNet AG Mail: netmaster@Space.Net Joseph-Dollinger-Bogen 14 Tel : +49-89-32356-0 80807 Muenchen Fax : +49-89-32356-299
