Dear colleagues, Here is our monthly overview of open policy proposals and their stage in the RIPE Policy Development Process (PDP). If you wish to join the discussion about a particular proposal, please do so on the relevant working group mailing list. Proposals Open for Discussion: 2015-04, "RIPE Resource Transfer Policies" 2016-05, “Synchronising the Initial and Subsequent IPv6 Allocation Policies” Proposals Awaiting Input: 2016-04, “IPv6 PI Sub-assignment Clarification” Proposal Overview: PROPOSAL: 2015-04, "RIPE Resource Transfer Policies" OVERVIEW: Aims to create a single transfer policy with all relevant information on the transfer of Internet number resources, replacing text in several RIPE Policies. The proposal also introduces a 24-month holding period for IPv4 addresses and 16-bit ASNs after any change of holdership. RIPE NCC IMPACT ANALYSIS: Describes how the 24-month holding period for scarce resources will be applied. Dear colleagues, Are you an experienced network operator keen to share your expertise with your peers in South East Europe? SEE 6 will take place from 12-13 June 2017 in Budva, Montenegro. The meeting is open to anyone and there is no cost to attend. The SEE Programme Committee (PC) is now seeking content proposals for the plenary session presentations, panels, workshops and lightning talks at SEE 6. The PC is looking for submissions covering network engineering and operations, including but not limited to: IPv6 deployment Managing IPv4 scarcity in operations Commercial transactions of IPv4 addresses Data centre technologies Network and DNS operations Network monitoring and measurements Network management and automation Internet governance and regulatory practices Network and routing security Content delivery Internet peering and mobile data exchange Efforts to establish IXPs in the region Reports from existing IXPs Regional success stories More information can be found at: https://www.ripe.net/see-6/call-for-presentations/ The following general requirements apply: - Proposals should be submitted by *20 March 2017* at: https://meetings.ripe.net/see6/pc/login.php - Proposals submitted after this date will be considered on a space-available basis. - Presenters should indicate how much time they will require. Usually, 30-minute slots are granted for Plenary presentations and 60-minute slots for panels. - Proposals for talks will only be considered by the PC if they contain draft presentation slides (slides may be updated at a later date). For panels, proposals must contain a clear description, as well as the names of invited panelists, presenters and moderators. - Due to potential technical issues, it is generally expected that presenters/panelists will be physically present at the SEE 6 Meeting.
