[GM] Reminder: Executive Board Nominations Deadline Approaching

Dear RIPE NCC member, This is a reminder that the RIPE NCC is calling for nominations to the RIPE NCC Executive Board. The deadline for submitting nominations is *22 April 2015*. Two vacant seats for three-year terms will be filled at the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) on 13-15 May 2015. One seat is to fill the place currently held by Dmitry Burkov, whose term expires in May 2015. A second seat is available following the membership's approval of a resolution to expand the Executive Board in October 2013. You must be a RIPE NCC member and a registered LIR contact to nominate a candidate or support a nomination. Nominations and support submissions should include the following information: - Your full name - Your organisation - Your LIR RegID - Name of the candidate you wish to nominate/support Nominations and support submissions must be submitted by email to <agm-nominations(a)ripe.net> by Wednesday, 22 April 2015 following the guidelines outlined in article 9 of the RIPE NCC Articles of Association. Excerpts from the Articles of Association are available at the end of this email. Voting -------- Voting for the election or appointment of the RIPE NCC Executive Board members will take place at the upcoming GM. If there are fewer than three confirmed candidates, the membership will vote to appoint candidates by resolution. If there are three or more candidates, there will be an election using instant run-off voting. Please ensure you are listed as a contact person for your organisation in the LIR Portal to ensure you can register. 2. [service] Planned Maintenance for Redesigned Website Launch

Dear colleagues, We have been hard at work getting our redesigned website ready for the launch next week, and are now in the final stages of the project. We've published a series of articles about the project and the latest one, which focuses on the new visual design, is now available on RIPE Labs: https://labs.ripe.net/Members/adam_castle/redesigning-the-ripe-ncc-website-… In order to make the switch to the new site, we have scheduled maintenance on Monday, 13 April from 5:30 - 7:30 UTC to work on the server infrastructure behind www.ripe.net. We don’t expect this work to impact visitors to the site, but there may be occasional disruptions during this time. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Beginning Monday, we hope you will take the opportunity to visit the new site and explore some of the new features. Once we have successfully switched over all applications and related websites to the new template, we will send another announcement. [news] Phase 1 of Deprecation of "changed:" Attribute Deployed to RIPE Database Release Candidate Environment

Dear colleagues, The RIPE Database Working Group has asked the RIPE NCC to replace the “changed:” attribute in the RIPE Database with “created:” and “last-modified:”. We want to inform the wider community, in case you have any feedback you would like to share with the Database WG. [GM] RIPE NCC Charging Scheme and ASNs

Dear Colleagues, The RIPE NCC Executive Board met last night to review the discussions regarding charging for AS Numbers. We feel that there was no really conclusive outcome to the discussion, so we will ask members to vote on the issue at the General Meeting (GM) on the 13th of May 2015. There will therefore be two resolutions on charging at the GM: - Members will be asked to vote to approve or reject the Charging Scheme 2016 that was published on 24 March: https://www.ripe.net/lir-services/ncc/gm/may-2015/supporting-documents - Members will also be asked to vote to approve or reject a resolution that would instantiate a EUR 50 charge per ASN The figure of EUR 50 was chosen to be equal to that for PI allocations, in the spirit of 2007-01. All supporting documents and the final agenda will be posted by the RIPE NCC on the 15th of April. We would like to thank all those who contributed to the recent discussion. We will continue to monitor the members-discuss mailing list should you wish to continue the discussion there. Proposals Open for Discussion: 2014-03, "Remove Multihoming Requirement for AS Number Assignments" – discussion open until 19 May 2015 Proposals at Last Call: 2014-05, "Policy for Inter-RIR Transfers of Internet Resources" - opinion can be stated until 3 April 2015 Proposals awaiting decision from proposer: 2015-01, "Alignment of Transfer Requirements for IPv4 Allocations" Proposals accepted: 2014-04, "Removing IPv6 Requirement for Receiving Space from the Final /8" 2014-06, "Publication of Sponsoring LIR for Legacy Internet Resource Holders" 2014-12, "Allow IPv6 Transfers" 2014-13, "Allow AS Number Transfers" Proposal Overviews: PROPOSAL: 2014-03, "Remove Multihoming Requirement for AS Number Assignments" OVERVIEW: This proposal aims to ease the requirements when requesting an Autonomous System (AS) Number. PROPOSAL: 2014-05, "Policy for Inter-RIR Transfers of Internet Resources" OVERVIEW: This proposal aims to allow the global transfer of Internet resources. For transfers to the RIPE NCC service region from RIRs that require needs-based policies, recipients must provide the RIPE NCC with a plan for the use of at least 50% of the transferred resources within five years. STATUS: Last Call WHERE TO COMMENT: The Address Policy Working Group – address-policy-wg(a)ripe.net DEADLINE: 3 April FULL PROPOSAL: http://www.ripe.net/ripe/policies/proposals/2014-05 ===== The following proposal is awaiting decision from proposer on how to proceed. PROPOSAL: 2015-01, "Alignment of Transfer Requirements for IPv4 Allocations" OVERVIEW: Currently IPv4 allocations received from another LIR only can be re-allocated after 24 months, while IPv4 allocations made by the RIPE NCC can be transferred immediately. This proposal aims to align the transfer requirements with a 24 month holding period for all IPv4 allocations. STATUS: Discussion Phase - Awaiting Decision from Proposer FULL PROPOSAL: http://www.ripe.net/ripe/policies/proposals/2015-01 ===== The following proposals have been accepted since the last RIPE Policy Proposal Update. The RIPE NCC has started the implementation of these policy changes. The RIPE NCC will follow the policy change once the implementation is complete and the new procedures are in place. PROPOSAL: 2014-04, "Removing IPv6 Requirement for Receiving Space from the Final /8" OVERVIEW: Previously, in order to receive a final /22 IPv4 allocation from the RIPE NCC, Local Internet Registries (LIRs) must have an IPv6 allocation in the RIPE NCC service region. This proposal removed this requirement. STATUS: Accepted EXPECTED IMPLEMENTATION: Implemented on 18 March 2015 FULL PROPOSAL: http://www.ripe.net/ripe/policies/proposals/2014-04 PROPOSAL: 2014-06, "Publication of Sponsoring LIR for Legacy Internet Resource Holders" OVERVIEW: This proposal requested the RIPE NCC to publish the link between legacy holders and their sponsoring Local Internet Registry (LIR).
