We also introduce attendees to the newest policies and procedures, explain terminology, and show how to efficiently communicate with us. The course is free of charge. We provide lunch and printed training materials. We do not cover any of your travel expenses or accommodation. We give all of our training courses in English. You can find more information about the course at: http://www.ripe.net/training/lir/ How to register: --------------------- The target audience of the LIR Training Course is employees of new LIRs, and new staff from established LIRs, who will deal with us as part of their regular work. You can register up to two people from your LIR for each course. (If there are places left nearer the time of the course, you can register more people). As we give out confidential information to attendees about their own LIR, only 'LIR contact persons' can register themselves for a course. LIR contact persons can also register other colleagues. NRO Number Council Elections: Successful Candidate Announced

[Apologies for duplicate e-mails] Dear Colleagues, Dave Wilson, HEAnet, has been nominated from the RIPE NCC service region to take the vacant seat on the Number Resource Organization (NRO) Number Council (NC). Voting took place during the Plenary session of the RIPE 53 Meeting in Amsterdam at 09:00 - 10:30, Thursday 5 October, 2006. As the representative appointed by the Internet community for the NRO NC seat, Dave Wilson will serve a three-year term beginning on 1 January 2007. The term of Sabine Jaume, who was elected in January 2004, expires in December 2006. Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to announce that we will be able to accept e-mailed requests for assignments for anycasting DNS servers from 2 October 2006. The request form and supporting notes will be available from the RIPE Document Store at: http://www.ripe.net/ripe/docs/internet-registries.html We will make a separate announcement when it is possible to make requests via the LIR Portal. Assignments for anycasting DNS will come from reserved blocks: * IPv4 Anycast Assignments (/24) from 194.0.0.0/18 * IPv6 Anycast Assignments (/48) from 2001:0678::/29 You may want to update your filters.
