[Apologies for duplicate emails] Dear Colleagues, You are cordially invited to join us at the MENOG 4/RIPE NCC Regional Meeting in Manama, Bahrain, on 5–9 April 2009. This is a special event for network operators and network engineers from the Middle East and offers a unique and exciting opportunity for you and your colleagues to develop cross-regional cooperation and meet with key players in the local and global Internet industry. The event is hosted by 2Connect. RIPE 58: Registration is Now Open

Dear Colleagues, Online registration for the RIPE 58 Meeting is now open. RIPE 58 will be held from 4-8 May, 2009, at the NH Hotel Krasnapolsky, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Registration ---------------- You can register online for RIPE 58 at: https://lirportal.ripe.net/lirportal/meeting/register/61 Meeting Fee ----------------- The registration fee for the meeting is EUR 400. This covers the full RIPE Meeting week. You will receive a EUR 50 discount if your payment is received before 17:00 UTC on Friday, 1 May 2009. Day Tickets ----------------- Day tickets are also available online and cost EUR 125 per day. Day tickets can also be purchased at the Registration Desk during the meeting. Student Discount ----------------- Tickets for students costs EUR 175. You must show a valid international student card upon arrival at the meeting. This discount does not apply to day tickets or to RIPE Dinner tickets. [Apologies for duplicate emails] Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to announce that phase one of policy proposal 2007-01, "Direct Internet Resource Assignments to End Users from the RIPE NCC", will be implemented on 3 March 2009. This change will require that an End User have a contractual relationship with a sponsoring LIR or the RIPE NCC before the End User can receive Internet number resources (Autonomous System (AS) Number, Provider Independent (PI) IPv4 and IPv6, Internet Exchange Point (IXP) and anycasting assignments) directly from the RIPE NCC. The full text of policy proposal 2007-01 can be found at: http://www.ripe.net/ripe/policies/proposals/2007-01.html Phase one addresses the implementation of the new policy in relation to all new requests for independent numbering resource assignments. Please note that from 3 March 2009, End Users requesting independent numbering resources must sign a contract with a sponsoring LIR or with the RIPE NCC in order to receive those resources. Requests for independent numbering resources that do not demonstrate such a contract will not be processed by the RIPE NCC. RIPE NCC Membership Survey 2008 Results Online

Dear Colleagues, The RIPE NCC commissioned the market research firm TNS NIPO to carry out the Membership Survey 2008 on its behalf from 17 September - 25 November 2008. The purpose of the survey was to give the RIPE NCC's membership a formal opportunity to voice opinions on the services provided by the RIPE NCC, and to give constructive input to help us plan development of our services. There were a total of 771 respondents to the survey. The results of the survey, as well as a synopsis of the results, are now available and can be found at: http://www.ripe.net/membership/survey/ I wish to thank the members of the community who provided valuable feedback. I look forward to discussing the survey and results at the upcoming RIPE 58 Meeting in Amsterdam from 4-8 May 2009. [Apologies for duplicate emails] Dear Colleagues, During the RIPE NCC's General Meeting in October 2008, members accepted the proposed "RIPE NCC Supporter Agreement" enabling non-members to show their support for the RIPE NCC. Any organisation or individual can become a RIPE NCC supporter. You do not have to be a member of the RIPE NCC to show your support. Supporters can attend General Meetings but do not have any voting rights and cannot request Internet number resources or related member services from the RIPE NCC.
