Dear RIPE NCC members, The RIPE NCC Executive Board held its 147th Meeting on 10 and 19 August. The Executive Board publishes the minutes of its meetings so that the workings of the Board and the decisions it makes are transparent for the membership that it represents. The following is a summary of the main items from the meeting. Further details are available in the minutes. The entire meeting was concerned with developments in the AFRINIC region. I have also published an article on RIPE Labs on the AFRINIC situation that references these minutes: https://labs.ripe.net/author/hans_petter_holen/supporting-the-internet-numbe... - Athina Fragkouli gave an extensive summary of the legal proceedings that AFRINIC is involved in - The Board agreed that the RIPE NCC wants to support AFRINIC and ensure the stability of the RIR system. - The following resolution was adopted unanimously by the Board: "The RIPE NCC Executive Board authorises the RIPE NCC Managing Director to review and act on behalf of the RIPE NCC on any request for the activation of the RIR Joint Stability Fund, in case such request is formally submitted by AFRINIC within a three month period from the date of this resolution and according to the process described here: https://www.nro.net/accountability/rir-accountability/joint-rir-stability-fu.... Further, the RIPE NCC Executive Board allows for RIR activities that are related to AFRINIC operations to qualify for support from this Fund, provided that this is formally requested by AFRINIC."
