What We’re Doing for You ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- Your LIR Stats LIR STATISTICS Number of LIRs: 24,843 (+841) LIRs with IPv6: 15,832 (+373) Policy transfers in August: 1,309,952 IPv4 addresses (+890,624) -- RIPE NCC General Meeting October 2019 You can now register for the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) October 2019. The draft agenda and supporting documents have been published, including the Draft RIPE NCC Activity Plan and Budget 2020. Register at: https://www.ripe.net/s/gm-registration-october-2019 Read more at: https://www.ripe.net/participate/meetings/gm/meetings/october-2019 -- Synchronising Users from the LIR Portal to the Default Maintainer in the RIPE Database We're introducing a new feature to synchronise users from the LIR Portal with the default maintainer in the RIPE Database. This removes the need to manually update the same information in two places. It also reduces the risk of giving unauthorised access to the wrong parties. Read about how the synchronisation works and how it will be developed at: https://labs.ripe.net/Members/ed_shryane/synchronising-users-from-the-lir-po... -- We’re Getting Ready for IPv4 Run-out We are expecting to reach the end of our remaining IPv4 pool in the coming months. In preparation, the community agreed on a policy change to establish a waiting list from which /24 allocations will be made from returned address space. The waiting list only becomes active once our pool of available IPv4 addresses is depleted. We have updated our software and procedures and are ready to go when the policy is triggered, which is the moment we can no longer allocate the equivalent of a /22: https://www.ripe.net/manage-ips-and-asns/ipv4/getting-ready-for-ipv4-run-out -- New LIR Account Applications We currently have a delay in processing new LIR account applications. This is due to the high number of requests we have received recently. All applications are being processed in the order that we receive them. Applications we receive from today will be waiting several weeks before being processed. From now on, applicants will almost certainly not be able to request a /22. Instead, they will join the waiting list to receive a /24 allocation from returned address space in the future. -- Webinars in October, November and December 2019 Learn about our measurement tools, the RIPE Database, IPv4 in the transfer market and more.
