[ncc-services-wg] Recognition of AfriNIC as the Fifth Regional Internet Registry

Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to announce that, on 8 April 2005 during the ICANN Board meeting in Mar del Plata, Argentina, AfriNIC was officially recognised as the fifth Regional Internet Registry (RIR) to serve Africa and the Indian Ocean. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the AfriNIC staff and everyone who has been involved with the formation of the fifth RIR.
