Suppose we have 100 corner cases and they each own a /19. They have an auto-num, route and inetnum objects which is controlled by a mntner object. They send in an email to auto-dbm@ripe.net to update some phone number or email in order to keep the whois data uptodate. In my opinion, this is the only registry service they need and these 100 corner cases should be allowed to continue to do so. If they need something that requires human intervention - "anything", which can include a lost MD5 password for their mntner, then, at that point the RIPE NCC can state "pay membership dues in order for us to continue".
