Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to announce that, on 8 April 2005 during the ICANN Board meeting in Mar del Plata, Argentina, AfriNIC was officially recognised as the fifth Regional Internet Registry (RIR) to serve Africa and the Indian Ocean.
