Dear colleagues, Policy proposal 2023-04, “Add AGGREGATED-BY-LIR status for IPv4 PA assignments”, is now in the Review Phase. The goal of this proposal is to introduce the AGGREGATED-BY-LIR status for IPv4 PA assignments to reduce LIR efforts in registration and maintenance. This proposal has been updated and it is now at version 2.0. The proposed policy text did not change, the only difference is that the section "Arguments opposing the proposal" includes a reference to the last round of discussion. The RIPE NCC has prepared an impact analysis on this proposal to support the community’s discussion. At the end of the Review Phase, the Working Group (WG) Chairs will determine whether the WG has reached rough consensus. It is therefore important to provide your opinion, even if it is simply a restatement of your input from the previous phase. 2023-03 Proposal Accepted (Voluntary Transfer Lock)

Dear colleagues,   Consensus has been reached on 2023-03 "Voluntary Transfer Lock".   This policy proposal aimed to allow holders of resources registered with the RIPE NCC to inform the RIPE NCC that certain resources must not be transferred for a certain amount of time. You can find the full proposal at:    https://www.ripe.net/participate/policies/proposals/2023-03 The new RIPE Document is called ripe-806 and is available at:  https://www.ripe.net/publications/docs/ripe-806 The following RIPE policy has been updated as well and received a new document number: ripe-807, "RIPE Resource Transfer Policies"  https://www.ripe.net/publications/docs/ripe-807 We estimate that this proposal will take around two months to fully implement. In order to ensure a correct and consistent handling of requests, the current procedures remain in place until the implementation is completed. 2023-03 Last Call for Comments (Voluntary Transfer Lock)

Dear colleagues, Proposal 2023-03, "Voluntary Transfer Lock" is now in Concluding Phase. The goal of this proposal is to allow resource holders whose resources are registered with the RIPE NCC to inform them which of these resources must not be transferred for a certain amount of time. The WG co-chairs have declared that rough consensus has been reached and the proposal will now move to Last Call. As per the RIPE Policy Development Process (PDP), the purpose of this four-week Concluding Phase is to give an opportunity to present well-justified objections for those who missed the previous two phases and wish to oppose the proposal. Any objection must be made before 20 October 2023 and must be supported by an explanation. If no substantive objections are raised by the end of Last Call, the proposal will complete the PDP and will be evaluated by the WG co-chairs for final consensus. Dear colleagues, Consensus has been reached on 2023-01 “Reducing IXP IPv4 assignment default size to a /26”. This proposal modifies in the IPv4 Policy the default size of IPv4 assignments for IXPs from a /24 to /26 and clarifies the return of the assignments previously issued for the IXP peering LAN. Dear colleagues, We are pleased to announce that we have fully implemented the RIPE Policy Proposal 2023-02 “Minimum size for IPv4 Temporary Assignments”. This policy sets the default assignment size for IPv4 temporary assignments to a /24 and allows routing requirements to justify the request for more than a /24 for research purposes.
