Dear colleagues, The policy proposal 2022-01, "Personal Data in the RIPE Database” has been withdrawn. The goal of this proposal was to allow the publication of verified Personal Data in the RIPE Database only when justified by its purpose. Raised concerns like the potential consequences of the consent based publication of personal data and the efficacy of their verification might be addressed in future discrete proposals. 2022-01 Review Phase (Personal Data in the RIPE Database)

Dear colleagues, Policy proposal 2022-01, "Personal Data in the RIPE Database", is now in the Review Phase. The goal of this proposal is to allow the publication of verified Personal Data in the RIPE Database only when they are justified by its purpose. The proposal has been updated to version 3.0 after the last round of discussion. This version differs from version 2.0 as follows: - it is not explicitly proscribed to enter the name of a person in role objects - the verification of fax numbers is not required The RIPE NCC has prepared an impact analysis on this latest proposal version to support the community’s discussion. At the end of the Review Phase, the Working Group (WG) Chairs will determine whether the WG has reached rough consensus. It is therefore important to provide your opinion, even if it is simply a restatement of your input from the previous phase. This goal of this proposal is to change the registration of IPv4 assignments from mandatory to optional. Dear colleagues, RIPE policy proposal 2022-01, "Personal Data in the RIPE Database" is now available for discussion again. The goal of this proposal is to allow the publication of verified Personal Data in the RIPE Database only when they are justified by its purpose. This proposal has been updated following the last round of discussion and is now at version 2.0. Some of the differences from version 1.0 include: - Publishing only country and region for natural persons - Making the current postal address publication optional for all - Allowing for the publication of different types of addresses in the future You can find the full proposal at: https://www.ripe.net/participate/policies/proposals/2022-01 As per the RIPE Policy Development Process (PDP), the purpose of this four week Discussion Phase is to discuss the proposal and provide feedback to the proposer. Dear colleagues, The policy proposal 2019-04, "Validation of "abuse-mailbox”” has been withdrawn. The proposal aimed to have the RIPE NCC validate "abuse-c:” information more often and introduce a new validation process.
