Hosting an Academic Day at your Institution

Dear all, I have a question for you. The RIPE NCC used to host in-person academic days on various topcs such as Internet 101, Routing, the RIPE Database, IPv6, RPKI, Internet Governance. With the current COVID restrictions we would like to move these online. Are any of your universities interested in such an online event? If so, can you support us by organising and spreading the word about the session and inviting students and we will deliver the content. Please let me know if you are interested. We can organise these relatively quickly. And if it does not work for you before summer, we can do it also in fall, regardless of the COVID situation. Looking forward to hearing from you. IEEE ICNP 2021 Call for Workshops

IEEE ICNP 2021 Call for Workshops ICNP, the IEEE International Conference on Network Protocols, is the premier conference covering all aspects of network protocol research, including design, analysis, specification, verification, implementation, and performance. ICNP 2021 will host multiple one-day or half-day workshops in conjunction with the main conference, to be held in Dallas, Texas, USA, November 2-5, 2021. We invite you to submit workshop proposals on any topic related to the main ICNP conference. ICNP workshops should focus on emerging research areas as well as boosting interactions among participants and community building. Website: https://icnp21.cs.ucr.edu/cfw.html A workshop proposal for ICNP 2021 should contain at least the following information: - Name and possible acronym of the workshop. - Motivation and rationale for the workshop. - Names and affiliations of main organizers, and a tentative composition of the committees (as complete as possible). - Workshop format, i.e., expected number of presented papers, slot lengths, information about invited talks, panels, demonstrations, etc. - Expected number of participants and expected number of submissions. - Prior history of this workshop, if any, including number of submissions, number of accepted papers, and attendee count of previous instances. - Draft call-for-papers, including introduction and topics of the workshop. Please note that the paper submission deadline of workshops should be around the beginning of July and the camera-ready processing of conference papers, tentatively set as August 24th, 2021, must be met by all workshops as well. Also, the break times need to be the same across all parallel workshops. All the registered participants to a workshop will receive a ticket for the welcome reception of the main conference to be held on the evening of November 2nd. The paper lengths are limited to six pages in IEEE Computer Society format. All the accepted papers need to be presented at the workshop. They will be included in the workshop proceedings as well as IEEE Xplore. We have a strong TPC and an exciting set of keynotes lined up: - Hamed Haddadi (Imperial College London | Brave Software) - Nicholas Lane (University of Cambridge | Samsung AI Center) - Mani Malek (Facebook AI) CFP: ##################################################################### Security and Privacy for Mobile AI (MAISP) http://maisp.gitlab.io/ ##################################################################### The S&P for Mobile AI workshop aims to bring together researchers in the areas of security and privacy with respect to mobile systems, networking, and AI, to discuss challenging topics, share new ideas, and exchange experiences across these areas, from both theoretical and experimental perspectives. In particular, we are interested in contributions that discuss what type of security and privacy problems (e.g., attacks, leaks, etc.) the mobile AI will raise in the near future, and what kind of algorithmic or practical solutions and adaptations must be employed at the application, operating system or network level to solve these challenges. We invite submissions of original, previously unpublished papers addressing key challenges in the intersection of the following (tentative) list of topics: • Secure / privacy-preserving distributed learning (P2P, FL, etc.) • Secure / privacy-preserving network functions at the edge • Security / privacy issues in FL systems (e.g., mobile / edge systems) • Security / privacy issues in FL scheduling algorithms • Security / privacy issues in on-device training, algorithms, analytics • Security / privacy issues in Biometrics/Fingerprinting in mobile systems • Security / privacy issues in mobile medical and health (MHealth) systems • Security / privacy issues in (Covid) mobile contact tracing technologies • Security / privacy issues in voice agents and local interactions • Trusted / attestable mobile / edge systems • Detection of automated / bot mobile users (e.g., mobile farms) We invite submissions which can be either full technical workshop papers, or position papers. Maximum length of such submissions is 6 pages (including references) in 2-column 10pt ACM format. All the submissions should be double-blind and will be peer-reviewed. For anonymity purposes, you must remove any author names and other uniquely identifying features in your submitted paper (e.g., references to your past work, links to data/code, etc). RIPE 82 Call for Presentations Closing on 19 March

Dear colleagues, As you may know, RIPE meetings and all our other events are now taking place online. This is why you have not seen any call for applications for RACI (the initiative funding academics to come and present) - there is at the moment no financial obstacle to do so. This is why I want to encourage you to submit any talks you might have directly to the general call for presentations of the meeting. Please do so by 19 March: https://ripe82.ripe.net/submit-topic/cfp Any proposals you submit via the link above will be considered for the plenary. In addition to this we have a number of Working Groups (DNS, Measurement and Analysis, Anti-Abuse etc), which cover specific topics in more detail.
