We received a lot of questions about what potential research projects might look like. RACI used to provide funding for academics to present their research at events such as the RIPE Meeting and the RIPE NCC regional meetings. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the funds for this initiative for this year will instead be used to support research projects relevant to work carried out by the RIPE NCC.

We invite academic and research institutes in the RIPE NCC service region to submit proposals to work on projects in these areas:

- Apply machine learning and big data analytics to the collected routing data to identify and predict trends. - Apply and customise big data visualisation frameworks to the collected routing data to better display the data to users.
