Fixed. A colleague was so kind to do the procedure for the USB. That fixed it indeed. Seems it was corrupted. No IPv6 DNS reachability issue after all.
One of my probes is pingable but the status is disconnected for over a day. Could it be that it has troubles with DNS over IPv6 and that it is not smart enough to fall back to IPv4?
