Indeed, it's nice if the redistribution of of unneeded (but working!) probes happens in a peer-to-peer fashion. Facilitation of this via the RIPE NCC does not happen on a large scale.
I'd like to add to this that we can give the redistributed probe a new probe ID so it really becomes a brand new probe without any history attached to it. To request this for your redistributed probe, you can send an email to atlas@ripe.net and it will be taken care of. Cheers, Johan
