Survey on IPv4 Scarcity, IPv6 Adoption, Carrier-Grade NAT Deployment

Dear RIPE community, we are a team of researchers from ICSI Berkeley, TU Berlin, TU Munich, Internet Initiative Japan and UC Berkeley jointly working on a project to assess the effects of IPv4 address exhaustion. As part of our research, we conduct a survey among network operators. The goal of this survey is to better understand the degree of IPv4 scarcity that ISPs face and which measures are taken to combat it (IPv4 Carrier-Grade NAT deployment, IPv4 address markets, and IPv6 transition mechanisms). If you work for an ISP that connects end-users to the Internet, we would greatly appreciate your response. Reminder: ASO AC Call for Nominations for Seat 10 on the ICANN Board

Dear colleagues, This is a final reminder for the Address Supporting Organization Address Council (ASO AC) call for nominations for Seat Number 10 on the ICANN Board. The nominations period will close at 23:59 UTC on 13 December 2015. The ASO AC election procedures can be found in Section 7 of the ASO Operating Procedures and are available on the ASO website at: https://aso.icann.org/documents/operational-documents/operating-procedures-… Article VI of the ICANN Bylaws states that: "At any given time, no two Directors selected by a Supporting Organization shall be citizens from the same country or of countries located in the same Geographic Region.” The ASO AC selection for Seat 9 of the ICANN Board of Directors resides in the ARIN region, so nominees for Seat 10 cannot reside in the ARIN region. Submit nominations by email to <nominations2016(a)aso.icann.org> along with the following information: - Full name of the person being nominated - Contact email address for the person being nominated - Contact telephone number (if available) of the person being nominated - Full name of the person making the nomination - Contact email address for the person making the nomination - Contact telephone number of the person making the nomination All candidates must sign a Letter of Certification declaring that they are of good character. The selected candidate will undergo an independent due diligence review by an ICANN contractor, and announcement of the candidate will follow once this review has been successfully completed. Rob Blokzijl Dies Peacefully Aged 72

Dear colleagues, I have the painful duty to inform you that Rob Blokzijl, RIPE Chair Emeritus died at his home in the Netherlands yesterday after a long illness. https://www.ripe.net/participate/ripe/rob-blokzijl-obituary This is a sad moment for all of us because we loose a leader whose influence permeates the RIPE community and the way we conduct our work. Rob will live on in this way.
