Dear colleagues, The ENOG 14/RIPE NCC Regional Meeting will take place in Minsk, Belarus, on 9-10 October 2017. The call for presentations is now online: http://www.enog.org/enog-14/cfp/ Please submit your talk, including the abstract and draft version of the slides before August, 20 for full consideration. Traditionally, key themes for ENOG are peering, operational practices, interconnection and collaboration between Internet service providers (ISPs). We welcome presentations on challenges, tools, experiences and best practices in the following areas: * Internet Development Trends - New technologies and applications, evolution of the Internet ecosystem - Analytics and prediction of Internet development * Internet Coordination, Governance and Regulatory Practices - Internet-related legislation and its impact, multistakeholder model, challenges and opportunities - Public initiatives and projects in the areas of Internet governance and coordination, research and deployment of new technologies * Peering and Internet Exchange Points - Business, technical and social aspects of peering and interconnection * Network Operations and Security - Operational experience and best current practices, security trends and technologies, threats overview * Key Internet Technologies - Real-life IPv6 and DNSSEC deployment experience, trends and statistics * Content Delivery - Technology, architecture and business models If you’d like to suggest a presentation for the ENOG 14 agenda, please submit your talk via the online form: http://www.enog.org/submit-topic/submission-form/ Presenters should indicate how much time they will require. In general, the time allocated for the different presentation formats is as follows: - Plenary presentations: 20-25 minute presentation with 5-10 minute discussion - Tutorials and Workshops: Up to three hours (Monday morning) - BoFs: Approximately one hour during evening sessions - Lightning talks: 10 minutes total for both presentation and any discussion For submission guidelines please see: http://www.enog.org/enog-14/cfp/submission-guidelines/ Please submit your proposal in English or Russian. NRO NC Call for Nominations: RIPE NCC Service Region

Dear colleagues, This is a call for nominations from the RIPE NCC service region to fill one vacant seat on the Number Resource Organization (NRO) Number Council (NC). The term of Wilfried Woeber, who was appointed to the NRO NC by the RIPE NCC Executive Board in November 2014, ends on 31 December 2017. The RIPE NCC Executive Board will select one representative from the nominees to serve a three-year term on the NRO NC beginning 1 January 2018. The decision of the Executive Board will be announced at the RIPE 75 Meeting, which will be held in Dubai from 22-26 October 2017. The deadline for nominations is 22 September 2017. Any individual residing within the RIPE NCC service region is eligible for nomination, except Regional Internet Registry (RIR) staff members. Self-nominations are permitted. All nominees may submit a written statement in support of their nomination for publication on the RIPE NCC website. Other individuals may express support for nominated individuals by emailing <nominations(a)ripe.net>. All confirmed nominations will be listed on the RIPE NCC website by 25 September 2017. RIPE Mailing List / RIPE Forum Code of Conduct The RIPE community’s strength comes from its breadth of experience, diversity of views, and an open, respectful exchange of ideas. These are values that we want all of our community members to uphold. Please treat each other with tolerance and respect. Free speech and an open exchange of ideas is encouraged and celebrated. Demeaning, intimidating or harming other community members is wrong. We are especially sensitive to behaviour that offends based on gender, sexual orientation, religion, race or ethnic origin, or other perceived social, cultural, or personal differences. Dear Colleagues, Following the successful BoF sessions that took place at the last two RIPE Meetings, we would like to invite you to a one day meeting dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT) and its consequences for the RIPE community and our business. This will be a one-day meeting, taking place in Leeds, UK, on 21 September 2017. We will start at around 10:30 local time and end the day at around 17:30 with a small reception. Our aim at this meeting will be to discuss what impact the IoT might have on areas of interest to the RIPE community and RIPE NCC services, and how we together can contribute to this emerging industry in a positive manner. This meeting is open to all interested parties. Although the meeting is mostly technical, it is also a chance for people to meet and network with others in their field. RIPE 75 will take place from 22-26 October in Dubai, UAE. The RIPE Programme Committee (PC) is now seeking content proposals from the RIPE community for the plenary sessions, BoFs (Birds of a Feather sessions), panels, workshops, tutorials and lightning talks at RIPE 75. See the full descriptions of the different presentation formats, https://ripe75.ripe.net/submit-topic/presentation-formats/. Proposals for plenary sessions, BoFs, panels, workshops and tutorials must be submitted for full consideration no later than *20 August 2017*. Proposals submitted after this date will be considered depending on the remaining available space in the programme. The PC is looking for presentations covering topics of network engineering and operations, including but not limited to: - IPv6 deployment - Managing IPv4 scarcity - Data centre technologies - Network and DNS operations - Internet governance and regulatory practices - Network and routing security - Content delivery - Internet peering and mobile data exchange - Connected Things (aka. Submissions RIPE Meeting attendees are quite sensitive to keeping presentations non-commercial, and product marketing talks are strongly discouraged. Repeated audience feedback shows that the most successful talks focus on operational experience, research results, or case studies. For example, presenters wishing to describe a commercial solution should focus on the underlying technology and not attempt a product demonstration. Presenters should indicate how much time they will require. In general, the time allocated for the different presentation formats is as follows: - Plenary presentations: 20-25 minutes presentation with 5-10 minutes discussion - Tutorials: up to two hours (Monday morning) - Workshops: one hour (during evening sessions) to two hours (Monday morning) - BoFs: approximately one hour - Lightning talks: 10 minutes total for both presentation and any discussion The following general requirements apply: - Proposals must be submitted using the meeting submission system, https://ripe75.ripe.net/submit-topic/ - Lightning talks should also be submitted using the meeting submission system (https://ripe75.ripe.net/submit-topic/) and can be submitted any time up to and including the meeting week.
