Dear Matt, I have a question regarding new ticketing system. Some days ago I sent an email and attached a file to my message. I received a receipt of ticket, then the NCC staff member replied to my question and I received a mail that contain a previous email content and a weblink to the file I attached before. The link was active and I was able to download the file. The link points to https://ripencc.zendesk.com/attachments/token/blablabla/?name=filename. The problem I see is that ripencc.zendesk.com is a hostname on the server in a cloud, the network is assigned to an Irish company and it seems that the file storage is not under RIPE NCC's control. This hostname is not reachable over IPv6, but this is not the issue I wish to discuss now. Can you clarify whether e-mail attachments/archives at RIPE NCC are stored at the third party servers? Do you think it is acceptable? possible abuse case with our emails / spam from euromoney/capacitymedia

Hi all, Since a few days ago, I'm getting spam from Euromoney regarding their Capacity events. Note that I'm not trying to advertise them, but before proceeding with a formal complain to the Data Protection Agencies, I want to know if is an isolated case or a massive one in the RIPE community. After several complaints (they didn't respond initially and continued with the spam) and mail exchange, this company is ensuring me today (I copy literally): "This particular contact does not have any purchase or online registration, it was loaded as a prospect from Capacity Media as an attendee for a 3rd party event (RIPE)." A few minutes ago, I've already asked the NCC to confirm if they have provided our personal data, which I doubt, of course, but I want to know if others are getting the same spam, which will mean that they are abusing our mail exploders or something similar ... IANA Numbering Services Review Committee seeks input - 30-day public comment period

Dear colleagues, As you may be aware, as a result of the successful IANA Stewardship transition in 2016, the IANA Numbering Services are today being managed through an SLA between ICANN and the five RIRs. As part of the result the IANA Stewardship transition, the IANA Numbering Services Review Committee (IANA RC) was established in 2016. The IANA RC is composed of representatives from each RIR region, and advices and assists the RIRs in the review of the IANA Numbering Services. The IANA services are today provided by Public Technical Identifiers (PTI) which publishes monthly performance reports on the IANA Numbering Services (https://www.iana.org/performance/numbers) Based on these monthly performance reports, the five RIRs have produced the 2018 IANA Performance Matrix Summary Report: https://www.nro.net/2018-IANA-Perfomance-Matrix-Summary-Report The IANA RC IANA performance report ----------------------------------- The IANA RC is now launching a public comment period of 30 days, seeking comments and input from the community on the IANA numbering services performance and the 2018 IANA Performance Matrix Summary Report. The IANA RC encourages all members of the Internet number community to review the public IANA Performance Matrix Summary Report. Paul Rendek Leaving the RIPE NCC

Dear colleagues, As many of you will have personal and professional connections with him, I want to inform you that Paul Rendek, our Director of External Relations, will be parting ways with the RIPE NCC at the end of February. Paul has dedicated over 20 years of his working life to the RIPE NCC and the RIPE community, with his influence extending to many areas of the Internet ecosystem. He is a trailblazer in the Internet governance world, establishing links between and among technical communities, business, governments, law enforcement and developing regions of the Internet world. He established the RIPE NCC's Dubai office and presence in Moscow and was instrumental in ensuring the inclusion and involvement of stakeholders from the Middle East, Russia, Central Asia and the Caucasus in wider Internet discussions and developments. His work to engage with all stakeholders was matched by an ability to ensure we always had a seat at the table and were able to work for the good of the Internet on the biggest stages. All of this he has done with incredible energy, intelligence and a wicked sense of humour. Fortunately for us, he plans to remain working within the Internet community as a consultant and I am sure he will bring the same energy and dedication to his future endeavours. Our External Relations Manager Chris Buckridge will carry on Paul's work in an acting capacity as we work to determine how best to develop our engagement strategy for the future. I'm confident that the team he has built will be able to continue the great work that he started many years ago. On a personal note, I've counted Paul as a friend and advisor for nearly three decades. I will sorely miss him at the RIPE NCC but I look forward to his continued influence and experience playing a guiding role in the community that has been his home for a long time.
