Dear colleagues, This is a reminder that there is a call for nominations from the RIPE NCC service region to fill one vacant seat on the Number Resource Organization (NRO) Number Council (NC). The three-year term of Nurani Nimpuno ends on 31 December 2018. The deadline for nominations is *21 September 2018*. Any individual residing within the RIPE NCC service region is eligible for nomination, except Regional Internet Registry (RIR) staff members. Self-nominations are permitted. The nomination process is available at: https://www.ripe.net/s/nroncnominations2018 The election to the NRO NC seat will take place during the RIPE 77 Meeting to be held in Amsterdam from 15-19 October 2018. All members of the Internet community who are present at the RIPE Meeting may vote in the election. Please send your nominations to <nominations(a)ripe.net> by 23:59 UTC on 21 September 2018. All confirmed nominations will be listed on the RIPE NCC website by 24 September 2018. All nominees may submit a written statement in support of their nomination for publication on the RIPE NCC website. Colleagues, A list of currently accepted RIPE 77 presentations is now published at: https://ripe77.ripe.net/programme/meeting-plan/plenary/ There are still plenary, BoF, tutorial and workshop slots remaining for the final RIPE 77 programme and RIPE Programme Committee will accept new proposals until *21 September 2018*. This is our last call for you to submit your proposals. You can find the CFP for RIPE 77 below or at https://ripe77.ripe.net/submit-topic/cfp/, for your proposals for plenary session presentations, tutorials, workshops, BoFs (Birds of a Feather sessions) and lightning talks. Please also note that speakers do not receive any extra reduction or funding towards the meeting fee at the RIPE Meetings, see the "Speakers" paragraph in CFP for more information. For example, presenters wishing to describe a commercial solution should focus on the underlying technology and should not attempt a product demonstration. Presenters should indicate how much time they will require. In general, the time allocated for the different presentation formats is as follows: - Plenary presentations: 20-25 minutes presentation with 5-10 minutes discussion - Tutorials: up to two hours (Monday morning) - Workshops: one hour (during evening sessions) to two hours (Monday morning) - BoFs: approximately one hour (during evening sessions) - Lightning talks: 10 minutes in total for both the presentation and any discussion The following general requirements apply: - Proposals must be submitted using the meeting submission system, https://ripe77.ripe.net/submit-topic/ - Lightning talks should also be submitted using the meeting submission system (https://ripe77.ripe.net/submit-topic/) and can be submitted any time up to and including the meeting week. Hi everyone, We've just launched the RIPE Meeting Mentoring Programme, another great way to increase inclusion and bridge the gap between seasoned RIPE Meeting attendees and new joiners to the community. Being a mentor is an easy way to pay it forward and share your experience with new community members. We match mentors and mentees on a best-effort basis. All you need to do is fill in a few details about yourself on a secure webform on our website and then we will try and find a suitable mentee match. Dear colleagues, The RIPE NCC has partnered with Quantum Internet Alliance and TU Delft to bring you the Quantum Internet Hackathon, taking place the weekend before RIPE 77 in Amsterdam. This is the 8th hackathon we've organised and this one promises to be the best yet! 2018-04 Last Call for Comments (PDP Clarification)

Dear colleagues, Proposal 2018-04, "PDP Clarification", is now in Concluding Phase. This proposal aims to clarify the options available to the Working Group chairs at the end of the Review Phase of the RIPE Policy Development Process (PDP). The RIPE chair has declared that rough consensus has been reached and the proposal will now move to Last Call. As per the RIPE Policy Development Process (PDP), the purpose of this four week Concluding Phase is to give an opportunity to present well-justified objections for those who missed the previous two phases and wish to oppose the proposal. Any objection must be made by 24 August 2018 and must be supported by an explanation. If no substantive objections are raised by the end of Last Call, the proposal will complete the PDP and will be evaluated by the RIPE Chair for final consensus.
