Dear colleagues, Are you interested in hosting RIPE 81 from 26-30 October 2020? We're looking for organisations within the RIPE NCC service region to submit their proposal for host consideration no later than *14 December 2018*. A RIPE Meeting Host helps with: venue scouting, Internet connectivity, social events, finding local sponsors and administrative and on-site support. Hi Cedric, > If someone put you in theyr as-macro, it's maybe because they give you transit. > Maybe the first search step is search all your transit as who are in this list and check theyr as-macro (get them over peering-db) We do not pay for transit from a Russian-ISP, although our ASN is referenced in their AS-SET. We already tried to contact them multiple times but they do not respond. I’m aware that this is not a practical issue, but still it's wrong. Regards Dominic

Hi José, Hi List, we are currently encountering the same 'issue'. We recently received a new ASN which previously had been assigned to another LIR within RIPE-Region. Our ASN is also referenced in several other AS-SETs (including some Russian providers), which we never had any business relation with. We tried to contact them multiple times in order to get our ASN removed from their macros, however, without any success. REMINDER: ASO AC Calls For Nominations for Seat 10 on the ICANN Board of Directors In line with the ICANN Address Supporting Organization (ASO) Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and the ICANN Bylaws, the Address Supporting Organization Address Council (ASO AC) has issued a call for nominations for Seat 10 on the ICANN Board of Directors: https://aso.icann.org/aso-icann/icann-board-elections/2018-19-icann-board-o… The selected candidate will serve for a three-year term, which will begin at the conclusion of the ICANN Annual General Assembly during the ICANN 66 Meeting, scheduled from 2-7 November 2019 in Montréal, Canada. Eligibility Requirements All nominated candidates must meet the selection criteria and conflict of interest requirements as outlined in Article 7 of the ICANN Bylaws. The nominated candidates will undergo a due diligence review by an independent ICANN contractor. Nomination Process Community members are invited to submit nominations by email to <nominations [at] aso [dot] icann [dot] org> by Friday, 30 November 2018 at 23:59 UTC. Nominations must include the following information: - The full name of the person being nominated. - Contact email address of the person being nominated. - Contact telephone number (if available) of the person being nominated. - The full name of the person making the nomination. - Contact email address for the person making the nomination. - Contact telephone number of the person making the nomination. Regional Restrictions The ICANN Bylaws state that the Directors selected by a Supporting Organization (SO) for its assigned Board seat(s) cannot reside in the same geographic region (see Section 7.2:c). The current ASO AC selection for Seat 9, Ron da Silva, resides in the ARIN region. Therefore, no nominations for Seat 10 can be accepted from candidates residing in the ARIN region. RIPE 77 - Thank You For Another Record-Breaking Meeting!

Dear colleagues, The RIPE 77 Meeting in Amsterdam came to a successful end last Friday. I'd like to thank all of you that took part in the meeting on site and remotely. It was the biggest RIPE Meeting ever with 800 attendees checked in from 64 countries (and 228 of those first-time attendees). According to the audience ratings, favourite presentations included Sara Dickinson's stellar (and slightly) scary look at the recent evolutions of end-device DNS resolution, an update on BGP policy by Job Snijders, and my presentation during the Opening Plenary (well, thanks very much for that!). We also heard a lot of great feedback about our various diversity initiatives at the RIPE Meetings, including on-site childcare and the Women in Tech (WiT) Lunch. We are working to make the WiT Lunch a more prominent part of the meeting for RIPE 78. The meeting programme featured a full-day of plenary presentations, the Women in Tech Lunch and two parallel BoF sessions at the end of the day.
