They also have a link London-Johannesburg, and as far as they know they are the first ones to implement a European-African link. ^^^^^^^^^^
What I actually said was we were the first to implement a Europe to *South* African (the country, not the continent/region) link. How a statement prefixed with "as far as I am aware" can be taken to be "obviously false" is in any case quite beyond me. I included information about our connectivity because I find similar information from others interesting, and there appeared to be interest in this from the attendees. Round-trip times are an engineering quality metric I find useful, and reducing these was a major motivation for this link. It's worth pointing out I would not have taken so much time to describe our European infrastructure if I did not find myself repeatedly up against others who use the disinformation that PIPEX are not a pan-European operator as a feeble excuse not to peer with us. I'm happy to keep the marketing out of these meetings if you will keep the anti-marketing out. Keith
