Dear colleagues, The first day of RIPE 81 kicked off with 1173 attendees registered for the meeting. Here are the highlights. The meeting was opened by Mirjam Kuhne, the RIPE Chair, who welcomed attendees for our second fully virtual RIPE Meeting. Presentations throughout the plenary sessions were well attended with over 680 participating on Meetecho and more joining in via the RIPE 81 livestream. We faced a few technical problems at the beginning, but those were resolved by the afternoon sessions. Thank you to all our speakers and participants for your patience and support yesterday! We wrapped up the first day with informal sessions to meet the new RIPE Chair Mirjam Kuhne and Vice Chair Niall O'Reilly and the RIPE NCC Executive Board.
