Wrap-up Report, 3rd Network Seminar and Intensive Course ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On Friday, July 10, 1992, the "Third Network Seminar and Intensive Course" for Scientists and Network Managers from Central Europe was closed after a very busy week of lectures, presentations and discussions in the field of networking. Presentations were given by lecturers from various Austrian Universities and companies (Softlab, DEC) as well as by representatives of the national R&D networks from The Netherlands (SURFnet) and Switzerland (SWITCH), and by the Vice-Chairman of DECUS Munich. The most valuable contributions by all the speakers to the success of the event are gratefully acknowledged! The seminar was supported and collectively funded by - the Rectorate, University of Technology, Vienna, - the Austrian Ministry of Science and Research, - the University of Technology Extension Centre, Vienna - and (last but not least) Digital Equipment Corp., Europe. During the seminar an ad-hoc panel session and discussion forum was organized in order to present and discuss the current state of the various national research networking projects in PL, CS, HU, HR, SI, RO and BG. This panel was chaired by Laszlo Csaba, representing HUNGARNET. Given the success of these seminars and the very positive responses from the participants, ACOnet expects to run similar events in the near future.
