In order to celebrate the 40th anniversary of EARN, the EARN 2024 conference will take place in Athens on April 20-21 2024, in conjunction with the RIPE SEE 12 Meeting.

EARN, the European Academic and Research Network, started in 1984 as the first multi-vendor computer communications network in Europe – before the Internet became widely available in the region. For the next ten years, until it merged with RARE (Réseaux Associés pour la Recherche Européenne) to form TERENA in 1994, EARN was active in introducing computer networking throughout Europe and beyond (former Soviet republics, the Middle East and North Africa).
Among the speakers at the conference the Internet Hall of Fame inductees:

Dennis Jennings
Frode Greisen
François Flückiger
Jan Gruntorád
Daniel Karrenberg

We invite all those interested in the history of computer networks to join us at the conference and share ideas, lessons learned, memories and history.
If you would like to get more information about the event and if you'd like to participate visit the EARN 2024 conference site.
If you already know that you want to join us, you can go directly to the registration page on the RIPE meeting site, and you can book a room at the special conference rate with this link.
If you have any questions or comments for the organizers, please send a personal email to info@earn2024.net and/or support@earn2024.net. If you have photos from EARN meetings or activities, we would be very grateful if you would share them with us so that we can display them at the conference.

Hope to see you in Athens!
