The bit tax is not just evidence of Belgian ministerial sense of humour.
but it is a sure sign of serious incompetence information copying on a net costs close to nothing adding a tax based on usage reverses the sense of information business, which has slowly evolved some very interesting models (c.f. first virtual etc etc) i believe that any international company with information business inside and outside the EU could construe this as restraint of trade too.... note that if this is done fairly (i.e. applied to digital comms on any open network, not just the internet), the stock exchanges will move out of europe sad and bad.... cheers jon
