Dear RIPE members, Well, after wondering a while, I am forwarding here my proposal for ICANN Director. I know that most of you could write a much better proposal even for the same person. Please do it. This time, we are still in time. Yes, Rob Blokzijl is The candidate of mine. I hope, not only mine. Rob is so modest and so unformal, that usually we forget his name when we speak about a formal duty. I would like to change this. As the world is getting "more formal", there is no other chance than asking "less formal" persons to take "formal responsibilities" in order to keep to world as free and "unformal" as it is possible. This is the main reason why I would like to see Rob as Director of ICANN. I know that my "nomination" is incomplete - please write a better one. He coordinated this association as a Chair since 1989. Later on he helped to add more formality where formalities become a must: this was the way as the RIPE NCC had been created and later on the RIPE NCC Association eshtablieshed as a non-profit legal body. He has very high reputation within the European Internauts, and very well known "Globally". His helpful, modest, personality could help to keep ICANN close to the community.
