Unallocated pool of IPv4 addresses drops below 5%
[Apologies for duplicate emails] Dear colleagues, The Number Resource Organization (NRO) today announced that less than five percent of the world’s IPv4 addresses remain unallocated. This is a major milestone in the life of the Internet and means that allocation of the last blocks of IPv4 to the Regional Internet Registries (RIRs) is imminent. It is critical that all Internet stakeholders take definitive action now to ensure the timely adoption of IPv6. The press release issued by the NRO can be found at: http://www.nro.net/media/remaining-ipv4-address-below-5.html Information about IPv6 can be found on the IPv6 Act Now website: www.ipv6actnow.org Information about obtaining an IPv6 allocation from the RIPE NCC can be found at: http://ripe.net/rs/ipv6/ Regards, Axel Pawlik Managing Director RIPE NCC
