(NOT a joke)
The Belgian Minister for Telecommunications came up with the idea of introducing a "bitrate tax" on information transmission. A number of mainstream newspaper articles mentioned a similar initiative in the U.S. of A. (an important argument to convince adversaries !) The new tax is/was supposed to bring in between .3 and 3 billion ECU per annum.
And what would the consequensces be on creative communiations, new ideas new companies and commerce? Why not put even more tax so that the budget's get even more improved:-) I think these are the best argument's on these matters. --mats -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mats Brunell Stiftelsen för Kunskaps- och Kompetensutveckling Kungsgatan 28, 4 tr Box 3222 Tel: +46 8 14 49 45 S-103 64 Stockholm Fax: +46 8 24 75 09 --------------------------------------------------------------------------
