Peter: at the current time there are no Commercial IP service providers in Japan. Consequently, there is no commercial infrastructure between the USA CIX members and Japan. Hopefully, that situation will change within the next few months. An interim measure would be for the customer in Japan to connect to an X.25 network which has connectivity to a USA Commercial Internet. Both SprintLink and PSInet utilize SprintNet for applications like this. I think UUnet uses Compuserve. Bob
