Dear Colleagues,
The RIPE NCC has released version 1.4.99.9 of libbgpdump, the library
that reads RIS raw data files.
The following changes were incorporated in the new version:
- Output of AS numbers is now in the ASPLAIN format
- Support for the ORIGINATOR_ID and CLUSTER_LIST attributes has been added
- Signedness of the MED and localpref attributes has been corrected
- Conditional checking for compression libraries has been implemented
- Crashes when using machine-readable output have been resolved
- Crashes when reading multiple files in a row have been resolved
- The output type for some fields has been corrected
- Various other improvements have been made to the code
This release includes patches contributed by Maurizio Pizzonia, Toby
Ehrenkranz and Steve Hill.

Dear Colleagues,
On 29 June 2009, between 7:00 and 15:00 (UTC), the RIPE NCC will carry
out a major upgrade of the Routing Information Service (RIS). During
this time, the RIS webpages might not be available for short periods of
time.
This upgrade will significantly improve the speed and accuracy of the
system, simplify the navigation and enhance the look and feel of the tools.
The RIS webpages are available at:

The format of the RIS reports will also change. If you are automatically
parsing the reports, you might have to update your tools. The reports
are currently available at:

The old MyASN service will be turned off and replaced by the new generic
