This is an auto-generated mail on Fri Jul 27 23:00:00 PDT 2001
It is not checked before it leaves my workstation. However, hopefully
you will find this report interesting and will take the time to look
through this to see if you can improve the amount of aggregation you
perform.
The report is split into sections:
0) General Status
List the route table history for the last week, list any possibly
bogus routes seen and give some status on ASes.
1) Gains by aggregating at the origin AS level
This lists the "Top 30" players who if they decided to aggregate
their announced classful prefixes at the origin AS level could
make a significant difference in the reduction of the current
size of the Internet routing table. This calculation does not
take into account the inclusion of holes when forming an aggregate
so it is possible even larger reduction should be possible.
2) Weekly Delta
A summary of the last weeks changes in terms of withdrawn and
added routes. Please note that this is only a snapshot but does
give some indication of ASes participating in CIDR. Clearly,
it is generally a good thing to see a large amont of withdrawls.
3) Interesting aggregates
Interesting here means not an aggregate made as a set of
classful routes.
Thanks to GX Networks for giving me access to their routing tables once a
day.

This is an auto-generated mail on Fri Jul 20 23:00:00 PDT 2001
Thanks to GX Networks for giving me access to their routing tables once a
day.

Dear All,
We have made 2 enhancements to the RIS user interface. Both can be
accessed through the RIS web-page at http://www.ripe.net/ris/ris-index.html
or http://abcoude.ripe.net/ris/query.html
1. Standard query RIS data query.
The standard RIS query has been split into two:
- "Search by AS": this searches the RIS DB for an AS, returned is a list
of prefixes and their AS paths in which the AS number is seen.
- "Search by Prefix": this searches the RIS DB for a given prefix.
While the functionality is the same as before, this should make
the standard queries easier to use. The (existing) status report
will show you which data has been inserted into the DB.
2. RIS report
A first version of a daily RISreport has been put online. The RISreport
is a tool to extract interesting quantities from the peering sessions
and maintain their values in a data-base. From the data-base, one
can generate plots through a web-interface.
This version is limited to a few plots for only the first 2 RRC's
(RRC00 and RRC01). However, the mechanism to produce these plots can
be easily expanded to plot other quantities and we will add more plots
in the near future. In the meantime, if you have suggestions for new
plots, please post them to the list. We also plan to add plots for the
other route collectors soon.
The RISreport has been mainly built by Thomas Franchetti during his
internship at the RIPE NCC from Aug-2000 to April-2001 and we
like to thank him for his efforts.
As usual, any feedback on how we can improve the RIS project is more than
welcome.

Hi There,
can you help, i have the range 217.196.0.0/20 (as20652)
and announce it to cable and wireless and firstnet services (as15758)
But when doing a traceroute into my network all 217.196 ip addresses have
as15758's as number on them???
Even if i come in via cable and wireless or firstnet. now both transit
providers did make an error and put a route object in for my network, which
should have now been deleted. but im still getting firstnets as number on my
range.
This is very confusing and we can't locate the problem, everything seems ok
in the ripe database now and as20652 (us) is the origin for the
217.196.0.0/20 network.
can you help?

This is an auto-generated mail on Fri Jul 13 23:00:00 PDT 2001
Thanks to GX Networks for giving me access to their routing tables once a
day.
Please send any comments about this report directly to cidr-report(a)cisco.com.

This is an auto-generated mail on Fri Jul 6 23:00:00 PDT 2001
Thanks to GX Networks for giving me access to their routing tables once a
day.
Please send any comments about this report directly to me.
