Maintenance on RIS Live, Tuesday 26 May, 11:00–12:00 UTC

Dear colleagues, On Tuesday, 26 May, from 11:00 to 12:00 UTC, we will carry out maintenance on RIS Live. During this maintenance window, RIS Live will stop producing data for up to 30 minutes. We will switch an upstream system used by RIS Live. The new instance runs independently from the current one. As a result, RIS Live cannot continue producing data during the switchover without risking duplicate messages. Instead, there will be a short downtime. During the maintenance window, we will: * Stop RIS Live data production * Reconfigure backend systems * Start RIS Live data production from the new backend systems There will be no overlap in data. Delegated RPKI CA service interruption

Dear working group, There has been an issue with our RPKI delegated CA service. The identity certificate and CRL used in the (RFC 6492) synchronisation channel between delegated CAs and the RIPE NCC parent CA expired at 8:37 UTC on 4 May 2026. As a result, delegated CAs would reject responses from our parent system, showing an error like “RFC 6492 Issue: CMS is not valid: CRL nextUpdate time in the past”. This disruption of the synchronisation between delegated CAs and our system had the following impact: - New delegated CAs could not be set up - Existing delegated CAs could not perform a key rollover - Existing delegated CAs could not list their resources - Existing delegated CAs could not request updated certificates This issue did not affect the validity of existing delegated CAs. Publication by delegated CAs was also unaffected. There was a low risk that outbound resource transfers or returns for delegated CAs could result in those CAs issuing overclaiming ROAs while their CA software was unable to synchronise with the RIPE NCC system. Because of this, we decided to put transfers and returns temporarily on hold for a few hours on 5 May 2026 while we worked on a fix. This issue was confirmed to be resolved at 10:48 UTC on 5 May 2026, after which transfers and returns were resumed. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. Dear all, During its 191st board meeting, held on 26-27 March 2026, the RIPE NCC Executive Board approved amendments to the RIPE NCC Certification Service and RIPE NCC Publish-in-Parent Terms and Conditions. These changes are in compliance with the RIPE Policy “Revocation of Persistently Non-functional Delegated RPKI CAs” (ripe-847 <https://www.ripe.net/publications/docs/ripe-847/>, hereafter “the Policy”), accepted on 15 October 2025 by the Routing Working Group. The Policy grants the RIPE NCC a mandate to revoke resource certificates associated with longtime non-functional CAs and, in doing so, reduce the workload for the parties relying on these certificates. The changes include the amendment of Article 5.3 of the RIPE NCC Certification Service Terms and Conditions, describing the termination of the Certification Service by the RIPE NCC, followed by a revocation of the Delegated CA Certificate(s) in the event that the RIPE NCC is unable to verify the existence of a valid Manifest or CRL for any of these CAs for a continuous period exceeding 90 days. We have also added definitions of “Manifest” and “CRL” to Article 1 of the RIPE NCC Certification Services Terms and Conditions. In addition to the amendments to the RIPE NCC Certification Service Terms and Conditions, we added a new Article 4.8 to the RIPE NCC Publish in Parent and Repository Terms and Conditions. This clarifies that, in the event of termination of the Certification Service by the Certificate Holder, the use of Publish in Parent Service shall be terminated by the RIPE NCC. Furthermore, we have added Article 3.11 to the RIPE NCC Certification Service Terms and Conditions and 5.3 of RIPE NCC Publish in Parent and Repository Terms and Conditions, addressing the removal of RPKI-signed objects created and published by the Certificate Holder whose access to the Certification service and Publish-in-Parent service has been terminated. This approach is consistent with the intent of the Policy, as these objects lack a valid certificate and therefore cannot be validated; consequently, their continued existence in the system is no longer justified. We also added Article 4.7 to the RIPE NCC Publish in Parent Terms and Conditions, specifying that the Certificate Holder can terminate the use of the service at any time. Lastly, we corrected the wording in Article 2.1 of the RIPE NCC Certification Services Terms and Conditions to reflect a slight change in the text used in the LIR Portal for acceptance of the Terms and Conditions. We also corrected several minor spelling errors in the document. Dear Working Group Members, Please find below a newly submitted document: "Explicitly excluding objects from RPSL sets". The purpose of this document is to address the issue faced by many operators today; namely that AS-SETs and ROUTE-SETs contain member entries which are undesirable for one reason or another, but the set owner has no method to exclude these unwanted members from their own set because they are deep within the set hierarchy. I have spoken to several people in the community who suffer from this problem and would like something done about it. In the long term we hope to phase out IRR based filtering, but we are many years away from that, so in the mean time we’d like to improve the situation until such time.
